Monthly Archives: December 2008

‘Twas the week before Christmas

And I was able to sneak off to Petrtol Head Mansion for a last week-end working on ROJ before the new year.

I forgot to take my camera, so borrowed one from the office. I shouldn’t have bothered, it was useless. So you’ll just have to use a little visual imagination with my narration.

My first job was to fit the front end heat shields – they had been hanging around annoying me so I wanted to get them out of the way.

With much gentle persuasion – often with the aid of a 5lb hammer – I connected up the Watts linkage and the trailing arms. I then had to dismantle the left side to fit the drive shaft. and that’s how I’ve left it the left side with drive shaft, but no suspension. The right with suspension but no drive shaft.

Of course I failed in my expectations of getting wheels on in 2008.

“It’s not that you’ve got unrealistic expectations,” said Robert “It’s that you’ve got expectations at all.” Gee thanks Rob.

Machine Mart have proven than their customer relations are as useless as their products.

I bought a torque wrench in 2006 which i only used for the first time last month – and it didn’t work. So I wrote to Machine Mart telling them this. Their reply – Well you bought it in 2006 so we can’t exchange it… Not an ounce of regret or apology for selling completely shit tools that don’t work.
